Lagos Life work guide: start a shift, leave early and check pay

A partial Banking shift paid ₦2,900; later checks still showed today worked and no new work entry. Read the receipt, missing next-shift hint and automatic-work limits before planning another shift.

A welcoming illustrated neighborhood

What has now been confirmed

A supplied 7 October 2026 follow-up completed a paid early departure from a Banking Marketer Level 1 shift. The Back from Work receipt said ₦2,900 earned, the wallet increased by the same amount, and performance rose from 80% to 90%. That progress survived one refresh and Continue. A full shift and a promotion were not completed.

This updates the earlier guide, which had verified starting work but not a final payment. All amounts are fictional game currency and relate to one existing character, not a guaranteed new-account wage or universal schedule.

If promotion is your main goal

Read the next rank's performance and skill conditions before doing more training. The tested Banking character has 90% performance and Charisma 3 against displayed requirements of 100% and Charisma 1. The remaining displayed gap is performance, not Charisma. Ten percentage points still missing is not proof that exactly one more shift will promote the character.

The related career-leveling guide prioritizes the next eligible shift, only the needed skill training, complete settlement and an observed rank change. It is a proposed way to avoid irrelevant actions, not a measured fastest route or evidence for unlimited same-day shifts.

Find the current work action

Open Phone, then Jobs, or inspect your character's Career panel. Read the role, rank, current pay label, skills, working day and work message. In the original 6 October session, accepting the banking entry role made a work button available immediately despite wording about starting tomorrow. Work began from that button without first finding a workplace on the map.

In the newer shift test, no work button was visible at 05:44 on the game clock; Go to work was visible at 06:00. The Career schedule still showed 08:00–17:00. This demonstrates one earlier available departure, not an exact daily unlock time or all-day eligibility. The game clock, browser clock and real elapsed time are separate.

Earlier records showed a one-hour Jobs description and help text referring to the shift window. The later two checks again showed 1-hour shifts, any time and 5 days a week in Jobs alongside an 08:00–17:00 Career schedule. These are unreconciled menu labels, not measured shift duration or permission for unlimited same-day work. Use the current action, eligibility message and actual shift state rather than calculating hourly earnings from those labels.

Still seeing You've worked today?

Two later supplied checks found the same Banking Marketer Level 1 at 90% performance, with the next role requiring 100% and Charisma 1. Career was read at 16:13 UTC and 17:03 UTC on 7 October 2026; the game displayed 5:13 PM and 6:03 PM respectively. These are two observations, not continuous monitoring or proof of when work next becomes available.

Each follow-up inspected Jobs once. Neither check showed Next shift or Go to work. Go automatically was already checked and was left unchanged; no automatic shift start was observed. A checked box does not establish that a shift has started or that this setting removes the eligibility limit.

  • Check whether a shift is already running before trying to start one.
  • Read Career's current reason, then inspect Jobs once for an available action or next-shift hint. The hint may be absent; do not assume you missed a required button.
  • If work remains unavailable, record that result and return at your next check. Repeated clicks, extra shopping and unrelated wishes have not been shown to unlock another shift.

The current Career and Jobs pages showed clocks but no date or weekday. An earlier Continue screen displayed Wednesday 7 October, but that was not a new controlled save test or evidence of a reset time. These checks do not establish that sleeping, midnight or a fixed number of real hours unlocks work.

Charisma 3 was read during the first of these follow-ups. Skills, Goals and the loan were not reread in the second. Check the relevant skill again when work becomes available. Neither follow-up started a new shift, received wages, completed a promotion or retested saving. Career was not reread at either home endpoint, so its last observed state must not be extended to later unobserved times.

Check the commute before starting

In the newer test, Go to work showed By Cab at ₦150. Starting the trip deducted exactly ₦150, and the screen showed Shift started with a return-time label. That indicated work had begun; it was not a salary receipt or evidence that the full advertised shift was complete.

The original test had shown a ₦150 Danfo trip. Do not assume that the same amount means the same transport or that all commutes have a fixed fare. Record your own displayed travel cost separately from wages.

Read the live pay amount before an early departure

Just after arrival, the work panel said No pay yet and stay 5 min. A later observation showed ₦2,900 so far (before tax) and Leave now with the same amount. The minimum real or in-game waiting time was not independently measured; the five-minute label is not a verified timing rule.

The tested early departure used the currently visible Leave control after a paid amount appeared. A work card could collapse and a button could disappear before a click. If that happens, inspect the current activity and controls before repeating an action.

On returning home, the receipt stated You earned ₦2,900 and Performance +10 (now 90%). The wallet confirmed the ₦2,900 increase. No tax deduction was observed in that settlement; this does not establish that all wages are tax-free.

The displayed ₦11,600 per-shift offer was not received in this test. A partial ₦2,900 payment is not proof of a missing ₦8,700. Eligibility for early pay, rounding, taxes, full-shift settlement and effects on a later shift remain incompletely tested. Early departure is documented here, not recommended as an optimal earning routine.

Work events and safe labels

This shift kept the default Do Your Work mode. Other available modes were inspected but not compared. An ATM event received one Call IT response; the card closed and the event later disappeared. Neither behavior by itself proved success.

The final receipt recorded one task handled and zero completed smoothly. It did not identify the task, so the event's specific result or failure mechanism was not isolated. The receipt's total +10 performance was confirmed by Career, but cannot be attributed solely to that response. A safe bet label is not a measured success rate. The displayed four-task bonus condition was not met or claimed.

Promotion still requires a separate check

After the partial shift the role remained Marketer Level 1, with 90% performance and You've worked today. The displayed next-role requirements were 100% performance and Charisma 1; this character had Charisma 3, so the skill condition was met while performance was still short.

The later Career checks described above still showed the same role, 90% performance and an already-worked message at their recorded times. No further shift or promotion occurred. Reaching a clock time does not by itself prove that another shift is available, and no automatic-promotion rule was established.

Check wages separately from other purchases

For this work action alone, ₦2,900 received minus the ₦150 commute gives a ₦2,750 net increase. The character also bought a guitar in the wider session; that unrelated spending is not a wage deduction. No extra return fare was recorded for this early-departure settlement.

After refresh, the recorded wallet, performance, work-status flag, skills and Goals matched. This specific wage-retention check passed; it does not repair or explain the earlier ₦8,900 laptop rollback. Keep private before-and-after notes and share only necessary differences if asking for help.

Use the guide with your current state

Check live eligibility, the current paid amount and a completion receipt. Use actual observed pay in the comparison tool, keeping partial and full shifts distinct. Exact daily reset time, full-shift pay, event success conditions, optimal work modes, promotion timing and other careers remain unverified. The decorative neighborhood illustration is not a screenshot of these tests.
