Lagos Life laptop side gigs: income, cooldowns and save checks

A later isolated IG Shop test kept its ₦3,200 income after Continue. Compare that success with the earlier ₦8,900 rollback; Freelance income retention is still unverified.

A welcoming illustrated neighborhood

Read this before buying a desk for income

A supplied 7 October 2026 playtest recorded successful Laptop Desk actions followed by a failed save-consistency check. After refresh and Continue, ₦8,900 of previously observed game-cash increases and some skill progress were missing. A later free-training-only check passed. In a later supplied report, an isolated IG Shop action also retained its ₦3,200 increase and recorded skill levels after refresh and Continue. Freelance income retention was not retested.

This is a dated report about one character, not evidence of a game-wide outage. The laptop route is not currently verified as a reliable earning strategy. Do not use the immediate figures below to calculate guaranteed profit, a desk payback period or an hourly income.

Reach Hustle 5: what a later menu check established

A later Evening News action assigned Reach Hustle 5. In the following limited entry check, the character had Hustle 4 and that wish was active. The existing Laptop Desk menu offered Run Instagram Shop with +Fun and +Hustle, Practice Coding with +Coding and -Fun, Freelance Gig with +Coding and -Fun, and Scroll Naija Twitter with +Fun and +Social. None was executed in that check.

Only Run Instagram Shop among those four inspected options carried a +Hustle label. It had already been tested in earlier sessions; the new check did not add a payout, level change or completed Hustle 5 wish. It also did not establish that no other training entry exists elsewhere in the game.

The Buy Skills catalog was browsed without selecting, previewing or buying a product. Product names and prices did not establish a new Hustle training method. Scroll Naija Twitter was not shown to train Hustle or count as a conversation, and Phone Hustle's player commission board is distinct from the tested solo laptop menu.

That entry-only session spent nothing and performed no reload. Goals, skills and career were read before the menus and were not checked again at the endpoint. Its unchanged wallet is not a save-persistence comparison, and whole-session need decreases are not fixed menu penalties. The older action and save results below remain separate dated evidence.

The solo action menu was on a Laptop Desk

Phone, then Hustle opened a player-to-player commission board. Ask, Apply and a player's offered price did not prove completed solo work or received pay. The tested solo actions were found by selecting a Laptop Desk already placed in the home.

The desk cost ₦18,000 in the observed Buy, Skills menu. Selection caused no deduction; confirming Place did. After leaving Buy and selecting the placed desk, the menu included Practice Coding, Freelance Gig, Run Instagram Shop and Scroll Naija Twitter. The last action was inspected but not executed.

Earlier Run Instagram Shop observations

The first completed shop action coincided with a ₦2,500 wallet increase, Hustle moving from level 2 to 3 and completion of the current Do a side gig wish. Stars rose by three. The wish displayed a three-star reward, but no separate cash breakdown was available, so that observation does not isolate a fixed shop payout or establish an extra cash reward from the wish.

A second completed shop action produced an immediate ₦3,200 increase with unchanged stars and wishes; Hustle moved from level 3 to 4. That second increase and Hustle level did not survive the subsequent failed save check. The two sessions began in different states and cannot establish an income-by-skill formula.

The wish result applies to the wish active in this character's session. Repeating the action was not shown to award another three stars each time.

Cooldown labels prevent a continuous-income calculation

Run Instagram Shop displayed a 14-second action label. It was not continuously repeatable: later checks showed 15 minutes remaining, then 8 minutes remaining, before Earns ₦ returned. The full initial cooldown was not captured.

At a later check, IG Shop was available while Freelance Gig still showed 13 minutes remaining. Treat these as observations of separate action availability, not a fixed universal reset schedule. Use the current labels in your own game.

Freelance Gig required Coding 2

The action initially showed Needs Coding 2. One free Practice Coding action brought this character to level 2, after which Freelance Gig became available. That training outcome does not promise two levels from one action for every player.

During the freelance action, Cancel Freelance Gig was visible and the wallet had not yet increased. After the action ended and the cancel control disappeared, the observed increase was ₦5,700. Coding went from level 2 to 3 while stars and wishes stayed unchanged. Fun went from 93% to 75%; elapsed time was not isolated from the action's own effect.

The ₦5,700 increase and Coding progress did not survive the later failed save check. The displayed 24-second action duration cannot be turned into a reliable hourly rate.

What changed after refresh and Continue

The recorded baseline had no action running. After returning through Continue:

  • The wallet was lower by ₦8,900, equal to the observed ₦5,700 freelance increase plus the second ₦3,200 shop increase.
  • Coding changed from level 3 to level 0, and Hustle from level 4 to level 3.
  • The other seven skill levels, stars, wishes, loan state, job and performance matched their recorded values.
  • The newly placed Laptop Desk was still visible in the home.

This partial result does not prove a particular save checkpoint or backend design. The recorded observation gap between the last shop action ending and the refresh menu was about five minutes. That is not a server-save timestamp or evidence that waiting a certain number of minutes guarantees safety.

The smaller follow-up passed, without retesting income

After the rollback, one free Practice Coding action again moved Coding from 0 to 2 without changing the wallet. A second refresh and Continue retained that level and all nine recorded skill levels, together with the wallet, wishes, job and other checked fields.

No new earning action was included in that control. It therefore cannot establish that side-gig income now saves or that the first failure has been repaired. Earlier successful saves in the previous report remain valid observations of those earlier sessions; they do not guarantee later outcomes.

Isolated follow-up: one IG Shop income check passed

The isolated 7 October IG report used the same character, starting this check at Coding 2 and Hustle 3. Only one Run Instagram Shop action was performed before the income save check: no training, purchase or second earning action was mixed in.

After the action finished, the wallet increased by ₦3,200, Hustle rose from 3 to 4 and Fun changed from 68% to 74%. Stars and the three active wishes stayed unchanged, so this observation did not coincide with a wish-completion reward.

With no action running, the tester refreshed once and selected Continue. The wallet retained the full observed increase, all nine skill levels matched the recorded post-action values, and Goals and career fields also matched. This supports a successful save for this particular IG action. It does not establish a fixed payout, a guaranteed level increase or reliable future earnings.

The recorded gap from action completion to opening the refresh menu was about four minutes, and returning through Continue took longer. These are observation intervals, not server-save confirmations or a recommended safe waiting period. The earlier failure occurred despite a waiting interval too.

Read the checks in order

  • Earlier mixed session: ₦8,900 and some Coding/Hustle progress were lost after Continue.
  • Later free Practice Coding control: the recorded training result remained after Continue; no income was tested.
  • New isolated IG Shop control: the ₦3,200 increase and recorded skill levels remained after Continue.
  • Freelance income retention, disconnect recovery and cross-device saves: still not verified by a successful retest.

Keep both the failure and the later success in view. No cause or fix was established, and the latest passing check does not invalidate the earlier rollback. Use the current action label and your own completed result; do not buy furniture or repeat paid actions solely to reproduce these tests.

Later checks: wages, music and outing progress

Newer supplied records retained the tested Shrine outing progress, a ₦2,900 partial-shift settlement and 90% career performance, an Open Mic wallet increase with Music 3, and the later writing window's wallet and wish changes. Each was checked separately after a controlled refresh and Continue.

Those outcomes extend the passing observations; they do not retest Freelance income or establish that the earlier rollback was fixed. The writing window coincided with a wish reward, so its net increase is not an isolated fixed songwriting fee. See the related work and music guides for each action's limits.

Some checks recorded a one-point need decrease while persistent progress fields matched; others had identical need readings in that window. Time and refresh were not separated. A small changing need bar alone is not proof of a rollback, and later end-of-session readings should not be substituted for the immediate save comparison.

Recent home and outing checks

Three later checks added distinct observations. The home-TV session retained the purchase and recorded wallet, stars, wishes, skills, loan and career fields; Fun changed from 100% to 99% while the other five needs matched. The Amala meal outing retained those recorded progress fields with all six need readings matching in its immediate comparison. The beach outing retained its progress fields while Energy changed from 62% to 61% and the other five needs matched.

A subsequent Freedom Park outing retained the recorded wallet, stars, ordered wishes, loan state, all nine skill levels and career fields after one refresh and Continue. Fun changed from 87% to 86% while the other five needs matched. Later endpoint readings were outside that immediate comparison.

Time and refresh effects were not separated in the one-point changes. None of these sessions retested Freelance income or resolved the earlier laptop rollback. Their passing progress checks are individual results, not a blanket save guarantee. The TV, restaurant, beach and Freedom Park guides separate purchases, travel and active-wish completion.

Wall Calendar purchase and an earlier cancelled preview

A later Wall Calendar purchase retained its recorded wallet, stars, ordered wishes, loan state, all nine skill levels and career fields after one controlled refresh and Continue. The report describes the calendar in a consistent wall position; a complete furniture inventory was not compared. Hunger changed from 77% to 76% while the other five needs matched, without isolating time from refresh.

The preceding Ring Light & Phone Stand test only selected, moved and cancelled a preview. It spent nothing and performed no reload, so its matching before-and-after UI fields are not a new save-persistence check. The calendar session's unexplained pre-purchase Hygiene increase is also separate from the save window and is not an established item effect.

Neither session retested Freelance income, resolved earlier need anomalies or established a global save fix. The household guide distinguishes the tested purchase from the cancelled preview and menu-only product information.

Evening News: a separate wish-progress save check

One later Free Evening News action completed the active TV wish without changing the wallet. Its controlled refresh and Continue retained the recorded wallet, stars, ordered wishes, loan state, all nine skill levels and career fields. Bladder changed from 97% to 96% while the other five needs matched; time and refresh were not separated.

Later endpoint Hunger and Social readings belong to another window. This check did not retest laptop income or resolve older unexplained need changes. It does not establish a global save fix, and the subsequent menu-only Hustle check had no reload at all.

If you notice missing progress

  • Pause additional spending and check which fields changed: game money, specific skills, wishes, job and purchased furniture.
  • Keep the date, timezone, visible game time, action names, completion messages and any connection or update notices.
  • Use private before-and-after notes. When posting publicly, share necessary differences and remove account names, private messages and login details.
  • Use the help offered by the game provider for account-specific recovery. This companion cannot restore a save or game currency.
  • Do not clear browser data, reset a character or repeatedly reload and repeat purchases as an assumed fix.

The report included an update notice and, later, Network slow / Saver mode. Neither was established as the cause. No backend save request or build version was captured.

Scope of this guide

These original notes summarize supplied playtest records from 7 October 2026. All money mentioned is fictional game currency, and amounts are changes relevant to the test rather than the player's complete wallet. Raw reports and account details are not published. The illustration is decorative. Save failure frequency, cause, a fix, full cooldown lengths, fixed rewards and cross-device recovery remain unverified.
